Welcome to the Java Architect's Corner!
The key to a strong performance in the Enterpise Architect
certification is the thorough familiarity with J2EE and
boatloads of common sense. If you have worked as a Java Developer
you would presumably be savvy with the basics of the J2EE building
blocks like Servlets, JSP, JMS, and JDBC to name a few. If that is
not the case then one should wonder on how you managed to get this
far!!
You can expect to find several application scenario's like
an online store with a webserver, application server and database
(all behind a firewall). And be asked to look into architecture
issues in a B2C or B2B context.
Which transactions to secure?
What is the effect of adding web servers?
What are the mechanisms used to load balance?
What are the implications of load balancing on state management?
Here are links to some really good websites from where you can weave
a web to gather more specific information. Start with...
Sun's Official Java Architect site. Also be sure to go through the success guide
(PDF).
